Causes of Illegal Garbage Dumping
- Lack of Trashcans
- Lack of Awareness
- Lack of Action
The 1st reason of illegal garbage dumping is lack of trashcans. In many times people do not know that trashcans are nearby them. When they have a garbage in their hands and need a trashcan but do not see one, usually they think that there are no trashcans nearby, as a result just dumping the trash anywhere. This is somehow the city or government's problem, because this may happen by not having enough garbage cans in certain area, letting people to be annoyed of the trash, end up throwing them anywhere.
The 2nd reason is lack of awareness. In the past, illegal garbage dumping was almost never considered as one of the major issues in cities, because people were very concentrated on other significant problems, such as water deficit, energy usage, deforestation, etc. Consequently, now people do not view illegal garbage dumping as one of the important environmental issues anymore, carelessly throwing garbages on the streets.
The 3rd reason, last but not least, is lack of action. This reason is somehow related to the 2nd reason, lack of awareness, but one different point from the previous reason is people's laziness. In 21st century, global warming is becoming a great problem worldwide. We all know which actions are harmful and what habits are beneficial to our planet Earth. However, many of us do not execute those thinking into actions, knowing that throwing trash on streets is not good but still doing. On the other hand, there are also some people who do not even consider about global warming, or they might cannot, maybe because of lack of education. For some people in the world, they are not aware of the seriousness of this problem, and that how it hugely impacts the community and their future.
These three points were the main causes of illegal garbage dumping. In order to solve a problem, we must plan the solutions based on the causes. The Green Police will be planning activities that will contribute on solving street garbage problems, referring to these causes.
